We got an early start yesterday from Campbellford with CARIB in the lead and Adagio following us to the lock. We arrived at 9am expecting the lock to be open as that is opening time. Well as we have discovered, that is when the staff arrives for work. Then comes the flag raising and emptying the lock. They keep them half full overnight. Plus there was another boat already at the lock. It was iffy as to whether all 4 of us could fit in the lock. The other boat, Roundabout went in first with CARIB behind him. We slowly entered past CARIB and rafted to Roundabout with about 2' of clearance with the lock wall. That is how we traversed the next 6 locks. We arrived at the Hastings Village marina about 230 pm. We decided to eat in and grilled chicken and asparagus. Yummy!
