Ann & Jan broke the Peterborough lift lock!

61 low / 79 high       8 locks today / 35 total for 2014

We departed the marina at 830am to make the 900am lift. We had 1 lock to go through before the Peterborough lift lock. Upon arrival behind 3 other looper boats we were told that the lift lock was broken and they estimated a 130pm opening. Ann & Jan must have pushed the wrong buttons yesterday. We had a leisurely morning waiting and thankful to be in a shady area. There was a half triathlon going on with the runners and bikers passing next to us. Later we were told that they would lock us through this one at noon and that the lift lock cruise company would be coming through about 1030. They would only go to the lift lock and the visitor center. At noon we were locked up and they told us the lift lock was  now fixed. The strange thing was when we arrived at it the tour boat was at the top coming back down. Sooo, it was obviously fixed before they let us through. The 4 looper boats traveled through the next locks packed in like sardines. We had quite a bit of trouble with the 1st boat into the lock each time, a catamaran with 4 people on board. He was 17' wide and we are 13.5' wide in a 32' wide lock. You would think that by now they would know how to lock through. We arrived at Island View Resort Marina about 630pm. They have a great little restaurant here with a big deck overlooking the water. Good food and cold beer!

Lock 20, just before the lift lock.

We wait. And the culprit.
