We left Orillia about 1100 am after a morning of rainshowers. It was a late start so we didn't arrive at Big Chute until 5 pm. We stayed at the top of the railway so we could see a few boats go through before we did it ourselves. When we walked over the place was dead, no one around. Finally about 615 pm a boat came and things cranked up.
Backing up though, we had a beautiful trip up here. We went through the deepest lock on the Trent Severn at 47'. Lots of rapids and narrow areas along with several swing bridges. Today, Monday will be our last day on the Trent Severn and we'll be overnighting in Midland, On. in Georgian Bay.
