Gore Bay

58 low / 68 high

We couldn't have had a better day to move on. Calm winds and overcast skies to start then clearing with sunshine. At 900 am we listened in on VHF channel 71 to the cruisers net. Roy broadcasts every morning from Little Current and provides weather forecasts, local and international news and sports, announcements and an invite for all cruises to check in with their location. It lasted an hour and was informative. We arrived in Gore Bay around 230 pm. Took a quick bike ride to the grocery and bought some steaks which we grilled for dinner. Upon return from the store we, as well as the other American boats, had a visit by Canadian customs. After questions and reviewing our documents he proceeded to search the boat. He went through all the drawers and lockers in the foreword cabin as well as drawers in the salon. Nice gentleman though. A thunderstorm came by around 700 pm and cooled us off again. Today we push on to Meldrum Bay which will be our last stop in Canada.
