Another month ends

70 low 81 high very humid

Ann & I feel so blessed that we are able to experience this journey together. Yesterday, Monday  June 30th we spent doing laundry and boat chores. After lunch we walked through the little town and to the grocery store. We also rode our bikes to the LCBO, the government liquor store. Our first ride this year. We hope to use the bikes a lot as my knee is bothering me when I walk to much. There are 7 looper boats here ranging from 58' to 34'. At 530pm we got together for docktails in a gazebo in the park next to the marina. It was a fun time sharing stories and experiences.

Today is Canada Day. Happy birthday Canada!! There will be many activities just across the river at Centennial Park. We plan on taking the dinghy across and participating. Tonight there will be fireworks.

Tomorrow I believe 6 of us will leave to start the canal. It will probably be a long day unless we get into the first locking group. The lock can only take 2-3 of us at a time and the crew travels between the first 3 locks. This is due to a cutback by Parks Canada. They have been hiring and training more staff but haven't caught up yet. Hopefully by the time we get to the later locks, they will each have their own crew.
