Finished the Trent Severn, off to Georgian Bay!

 54 low /75 high         2 locks today / 51 total for 2014

I awoke yesterday to a beautiful cool morning looking forward to finishing the last 2 locks on the waterway. We pulled over to the blue line shortly after 9 am followed by Adagio. The monster lift started down into the water and they called Ron to enter first. After he was tucked in they called for me. As we approached, Ann told them that we had an external pod bow thruster to watch for with their slings. Once on and in position as the water was draining they became very concerned that the thruster was sitting on the deck and taking the weight of the bow. After much discussion they decided that I should back out and wait for them to return and load me first so the thruster could overhang the front. Easier said than done. First Charis does not back well and second to our port or left side as we left was the entrance to the dam which creates a sucking movement. With help from above we made it out and back to the blue line.

Adagio tucked in.

Our second approach.
Our second try went well and after a few fore and aft adjustments we had the ride of our lives.

At the top, note the 3 story building on the right.

Starting down.

Almost there.

On to Midland from here.

Some pictures that Ron & Jan took of us as they waited at the bottom.

Our 1st approach.

Happy people!

Trying to get turned. Note the cables and yellow markers behind us. The entrance to the dam.

That pesky thruster!
