Northport, Mi. day 2

59 low / 83 high

We stayed another day here in Northport. The day was spent polishing the fuel in our starboard tank. After the service manager from a nearby boat yard came down on Wed. and looked things over, he recommended that I just polish it and use it. We have a polishing system on the boat. It is a Gulf Coast system consisting of 2 filters that contain a roll of Scott's toilet paper, then our racor water separator/filter with a 2 micron filter in it. The polishing pump pulls the fuel from the tank through the filter, then through the water separator then back into the tank. It has now run about 40 hours and although the fuel is still cloudy there has been no water or crud in it. He said old fuel does turn cloudy and this is nowhere as bad as he has seen. Ann took advantage of the free washer and dryer here to do the bed quilt. We stopped by the Northport Brewing Co. which just opened to sample their beer. Later Ann couldn't resist going to the beach!

A porter, raspberry wit and smoked fish dip, yummy!
