Burlington, Vt.

We cast off lines at about 8 am. and headed for Burlington, Vt. It was a beautiful day and the scenery was fantastic.

This is a lake!

We made a brief stop in Shelburne Shipyard for fuel. It has the best price on the lake at $3.85 a gallon compared to $4.12 at Whitehall. We arrived in Burlington at the Community Boathouse marina. This is a city owned and run facility which is very popular. $1.50 gets you a 15 minute shower. We took the free shuttle bus up into town and walked (I hobbled with my knee hurting) Church St. which is a walk only shopping street line with restaurants. We came back to the boat and tried to get the air conditioning working to no avail. It was in the low 90's. This has plagued us for almost a week and we've had 2 people down to fix it. With parts replaced and working while they were there it doesn't start again the next time. Only 2 places on the lake to get it fixed and one requires a weeks notice and the other I haven't heard back from. At least the forward one is working so we sleep well.

Burlington as seen from the water.

A mural down an alley.

Inside a whiskey bar where we had a glass of wine before dinner. We overheard customers pay $100 for a glass of 30 year old whiskey.

This town has rain barrels vs animals.

Who can complain with a sunset like this!
