We left the dock at 600 am only to be stuck waiting for a RR lift bridge 15 minutes later. We waited about 50 minutes so 2 trains could cross. Once past we traveled through the shipyards of Portsmouth & Norfolk. We even got an escort as we passed some of the navy ships. After we passed the Hampton Roads Tunnel we turned north along the coast. We are now back in the Chesapeake again. The weather cooperated today with very small waves and light winds. We wound our way up Mobjack bay to a tiny cove where Zimmermans Marine is located. We had to arrive near high tide so we could get in the entrance. There on the dock waiting for us were John & Kathy Scott from Serenity. They have been here for about 3 weeks awaiting new prop shafts. They are the reason we came here and not to another Zimmermans location farther north. It was great to see old friends again. We had drinks on board and then went out to dinner. Their boat is on land and the heat so bad they have moved into a hotel and have a rental car. We're hoping we can leave together this week and travel as far as Solomons.
