Belhaven then Alligator River Marina

16 & 17 June, 2015    96.3 sm total

We left River Dunes at 810 am after getting some block ice for the Yeti. Another beautiful day for cruising. About 130 pm we arrived at Dowry Creek Marina just past Belhaven. It's rated 5 star on Active Captain but I don't know why. It's a very old marina with fixed wooden docks. That said, the people are great, the clubhouse is air conditioned and we had happy hour at 500 pm.

We left this morning at 730 am for a long day to the top of the Alligator River just before Albermarle Sound. When we entered the marina it was empty. Hours later 3 sailboats from last night showed up. The restaurant now closes at 300 pm on Wednesday and opens at 600 am not 5 am as advertised. Clean but old showers and nice lounge area. We'll grab breakfast at 6 and depart for Elizabeth City shortly after due to thunderstorms forecast for the afternoon.

Leaving Dowry Creek Marina.
Not any pictures again as we are traveling with the boat closed up and the air conditioner running due to the heat.
