Monday we spent some more time on Sparks Street watching the street performers.
This guy puts on a straight jacket and hangs upside down on the ladder.
Over some lit torches and escapes!
This one had a straight jacket, and 25 pounds of chain around his neck and waist fixed with padlocks.
Tuesday we went on a tour of the Parliament Building. It was fascinating. In the afternoon we walked to the grocery store to get provisioned for the next legs. Things are expensive here, a bag of shredded cheese was almost $10.
John McDonald, the first prime minister.
The House of Commons.
The library. No pictures allowed but it was beautiful!
Views from near the top of the clock tower. This is the Ottawa river.
More views.
Today we went to the By Ward market again for tomatoes. All different colors of grape size and very sweet. Ann is at the hairdresser as I'm at the coffee shop doing this update. We plan on leaving about 0830 in the morning. The first obstacle is a lift bridge which doesn't open until 0900. Then 8 locks later we should arrive at Hurst Marina for a night or two. Will update again when able.
