Ottawa update

Today is Monday the 5th of August and a relax day for us so I'll update the last few days. Thur. we bought a 3 day pass on the hop on hop off bus and rode around the entire route. We also spent some time on Sparks Street which is a walking street across the canal. Friday we took it to the Aviation and Space Museum and later in the day stopped on Sparks Street for the opening day of the Buskers Festival. Buskers are street performers. One girl had an act using hula hoops and at one time she had about 25 going in different directions around her body. Another couple of teenage boys had an act with 6' high unicycles and juggling. It was fun watching and we may go back this afternoon. Today is a Canadian Holiday. That night we had hordourves aboard The Duddon Pilot with Peter and Maureen. Afterwards we walked to a Scottish pub, Highlander, for dinner.

The weather here has been very pleasant with lows in the high 50's to low 60's and high of around 80. We haven't used the air conditioning since New York.

Sat. we went to the Imax theatre at the Museum of Civilization and watched a movie about building the trans Canada railroad. Later we walked down by the locks and took some pictures of the hand operated cranks for opening and closing them.

Sun. we went to church in the morning. The afternoon we walked to the ByWard market. They say it's the world's largest outdoor market. We bought fresh vegetables, cheese, bread and some rosemary & lamb meatballs. Also some fresh made bagels cooked in a wood fired oven like pizza.

We have been lucky with the internet as there is a shopping center a block away with coffee shops that have free wifi. I also walked into the Apple store and got a prepaid sim card and after some doing one of the attendants got it activated for me. 5gb for $35.00 good for 30 days. That will help doing some secure banking stuff.
