Sorry no post yesterday. At anchor with no wi-fi. We left Bobby's early only to get held up by the lock. Very uncooperative guy there would give no info beforehand or even a mile away. He waited until we were at the lock to request a bunch of info from each boat before letting us in. Once through we had a great day. We probably passed more tow's in 1 day than on the entire trip. At least 20. We anchored for the night at the Tensaw River cutoff in 8' of water and had a wonderful, peaceful night.

We were surprised Sat. morning because there was no fog. Shortly after sunrise in the anchorage we were rocked by about 20 bass boats tearing up the river. Must have been the start of a tournament. Another wonderful day on the water. We are now in the low country and saw palmetto palms along the banks. As we entered Mobile through the shipping channel we expected a lot of big boat traffic but had almost none. Maybe because it is the weekend. The port is enormous with quite a few ships docked there. As we transited south into Mobile Bay we turned east towards Fairhope. The dolphins greeted us with surfing through our wakes. After 2 long days it was nice to tie up at the Fairhope Yacht Club. We took a cab downtown to watch the Alabama game with John & Sue. This was our last travel day with them and a sad one for us. We have become quite close and will always cherish the friendship that we have developed. A good thing about the loop but unless you live near each other a sad one to separate. We will catch up again in Pensacola, their home, later this week for a few days before we continue towards home.
